Yamaha representatives give final outing to 2006 M1

After yesterday's media test and ahead of tomorrow's serious work of 800cc testing, Camel Yamaha once again lent their 990cc bikes out for a last hurrah. The 2006 M1 didn't go too far though, remaining in company hands as Yamaha Manager Lin Jarvis, Japanese legend Norick Abe and Valentino Rossi's assistant Uccio had a go at riding "The Doctor"s bike round the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia. In a humourous sidenote, Uccio was shown a pit board and imitated a number of Rossi's mannerisms, including returning to the garage for a chat with the mechanics midway through the session.

For Jarvis, it was a debut performance on the 990cc bike, and even he was impressed by the experience he usually only sees from the other side of the track.

"I enjoyed myself a lot at this circuit; it's small but there are a lot of details. I actually felt very comfortable on the bike, although of course the speed I was going was nowhere near that of the professional riders," commented the Yamaha chief.
