Hofmann confirmed for 2007 Pramac d'Antin seat

As expected, Pramac d'Antin have confirmed that Alex Hofmann will continue with the team for the 2007 season. The German rider will line up alongside Alex Barros as the team begins the 800cc era with the Desmosedici GP07 and Bridgestone tyres, with his first outing alongside the Brazilian set to take place later this month in Malaysia.

"I want to thank Paolo Campinoti, Luis d'Antín and Ducati for this new opportunity," stated Hofmann. "After one year of hard work, during which I always tried to make it the best as I could, thinking about 2007, I'm happy to have the opportunity, as I hoped, to take part in a good season with a great "package" of bike and tyres. In 2007, my aim will be to demonstrate that I can be a top rider in the MotoGP class as well. I can't wait to go on track and do the first test".

Team Manager Luis d'Antin announced that he is happy to continue with his 2006 rider, who he says "deserved our trust for giving his all when things weren't easy."

Before Hofmann can take to the track, he will have to undergo three weeks of rehabilitation on his foot and ankle. The 16 screws and 2 plates inserted after he crashed last year in Japan will be removed tomorrow.
