Testing concludes in Valencia

The second and final day of testing at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo took place yesterday, as the MotoGP teams and riders continue their adaptation to the 800cc machines, and the 250cc squadrons prepare for 2007.

Dani Pedrosa topped the timesheets on the Honda RC212V, clocking a time of 1'32.66 at the Spanish track. Team-mate and World Champion Nicky Hayden has also been putting in the laps on the new bike, and looks to be the driving force in adapting the machine to the riders' requirements with his valuable input.

Chris Vermeulen has been turning heads on the Suzuki prototype, used by the official riders for the first time this week. Both he and team-mate John Hopkins have gone round consistently under 1'33.

World Championship runner-up Valentino Rossi yesterday focused on tyre compound testing, and although low down the timesheets the Italian will not be worried at this early stage.

After spending time on the pit wall watching Andrew Pitt and Jeremy McWilliams test out the Ilmor, Garry McCoy took another run-out on the bike alongside the latter yesterday. Speculation still surrounds their choice of rider for next season.
