Luthi limbers up for 250cc move

Making the move up to 250cc next season, Thomas Luthi has been getting to grips with his new bike in what he believes will be a long road to the opening race of 2007.

Testing in Valencia last week, the Swiss rider explained to motogp.com that he is hoping that the change in both category and bike (he exchanges the Honda that won him the 2005 title for a quarter litre Aprilia) will benefit him as he looks to lead a rookie charge in the 250cc class.

"The competition next year looks great," said Luthi. "There are a lot of new riders, but the first race is still a long way away and there is much work to be done. My first test was a great, fun experience, and the times were ok too. I have some things that I need to adjust, but I'm really looking forward to next season."
