MotoGP television coverage recieves prize in Spain

Coverage of the MotoGP World Championship was last week awarded a prize at the "Gran Noche del Audiovisual" in Madrid, where Spanish television professionals recognised the television output provided by rights-holders Dorna for TVE.

A gathering of 500, consisting of television and radio executives, employers, programme makers, technicians, representatives and agencies, were in attendance at the prize giving for the 4th Professional Production and Audio Production awards on November 7th.

The specific honour taken by Dorna was the award for best technical execution, provided for TVE up until the end of the 2006 season. World Championship coverage was taken up by Dorna in 1992, when they obtained the commercial rights to what was to become MotoGP. Since then, the number of cameras present at Grands Prix has been increased, new technological developments such as OnBoard cameras have been incorporated into the coverage and separate signals have been designated for a number of different international feeds.
