125cc teams take to the track in Jerez

A number of Aprilia and KTM riders from the 125cc class started testing yesterday in Jerez, part of a scheduled two day visit to the Spanish track.. The first day was notable for the debut of Gabor Talmacsi in the ranks of the Master MVA Aspar team, and Tomoyoshi Koyama's first appearance for KTM.

The Austrian team, who next year incorporate the Red Bull KTM Junior team into one outfit, also gave a ride to American Steve Bonsey yesterday as they look to replace recent departeé Julian Simon. The young rider didn't have the best of luck on his first outing for the 12cc squadron, suffering a crash which injured a finger on his left hand and a number of heavy contusions.

Although not officially confirmed as a Repsol Honda rider next season, Bradley Smith tested with the team and was on the pace, matching Talmacsi and Hector Faubel's times at various points.
