Aoyama fastest whilst Barbera and Locatelli change teams in Jerez

Hiroshi Aoyama was the fastest rider on a day of debutants and former 125cc riders at Jerez yesterday, the Red Bull KTM rider being the only rider to break the 1'44 barrier at the Spanish track.

Hector Barbera made his debut for the Team Toth team, an unexpected move kept under wraps by both rider and team. Although made public on his semi-official website, the move of ex-Team Toth rider Roberto Locatelli to an official factory Aprilia with Gilera had also been something of a secret, and he undertook his first laps with his new bike yesterday.

Mika Kallio and Alvaro Bautista were carrying out their second 250cc test, and showed a rapid adaptation by coming in third and fourth fastest respectively. Kallio was just slower than Barbera round the Jerez Circuit, whilst Bautista finished ahead of Aspar team-mate Alex de Angelis.
