Jacque upbeat despite limited 800cc contact

Olivier Jacque had his first outing on the Kawasaki Ninja 800cc last week in Sepang, although it was a somewhat brief affair. The Frenchman chose to ride the 990cc on the Wednesday to get back into the swing of MotoGP riding, before undertaking a number of laps the following day. Friday, set to be Jacque's final outing of the year on the green machine, was aborted due to problems late on Thursday with the new prototype.

Although unable to get an extensive look at the new bike, Olivier Jacque was not too downbeat when he spoke to motogp.com on Thursday afternoon.

"I don't see any negatives from the little contact I've had with the 800cc bike. We didn't change anything with the setup during the test, and the lap times weren't so bad. It's a shame not to have been able to undertake so many laps, because the only way that we will resolve any problems is by getting on the track more."
