BQR reach agreement with Aprilia

After a number of attempts to acquire an official Honda bike, BQR have switched factories to Aprilia for 2007. Raul Romero's team join the manufacturer responsible for the 125cc and 250cc 2006 World Champions, with BQR being promised the same parts as Alvaro Bautista and Jorge Lorenzo's 2006 title-winners.

"It was a difficult decision, which we pondered over for a long time," indicated Romero. "We have been competing at the highest level for a number of years, but we have always lacked the official parts necessary to let us fight for the top places. I think we owe it to our sponsors."

"I understand that Honda can't provide us with factory bikes, but I also hope that they understand our point of view when we say that our sponsors are ever more demanding and we had to make this decision. I think that the level of the 125cc and 250cc championships is going to step up a lot, and we need to move to be able to show our potential."
