Rossi auctions Valencia leathers for Gaslini Children's Hospital

Although his crash at Valencia was only of benefit to eventual championship winner Nicky Hayden, Valentino Rossi's dramatic tumble could bring a smile to the faces of children at the Gaslini Hospital in Genova, Italy.

The Dainese leathers worn by Rossi during the final race of the 2006 season, allowing him to escape injury and attempt to fight back through the field, are being auctioned on ebay, with the proceeds from the auction going towards the renovation of the Abbey in San Gerolamo di Quarto next to the Gaslini Children's Hospital in Genova, which will be used for the creation of non-medical structures that will provide the more than 50 thousand children admitted to the largest children's hospital in Italy every year the setting for an ideal period of convalescence.
