Brno 2005: Luthi wins in Czech Republic

Thomas Luthi took victory number two of the season last year at Brno, after a frenetic finale in which he battled with title rival Mika Kallio. The Swiss rider broke his Czech hoodoo, having not placed in the points in any of his previous visits.

The Honda rider took advantage of his pole position to make a fantastic start, creating space between himself and his rivals. Mattia Pasini was also going strong at the end of the race, although the damp track provoked his crashing and leaving the way clear for Luthi, Kallio and Simoncelli.
