Joan Olive: "Catalunya GP provides extra motivation"

Joan Olive is, like most Spanish riders, eager to take to the track on Sunday for the Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya, one of the most important races of the season for SSM Racing's 250cc man.

With one podium place under his belt, earned in last season's Italian Grand Prix, Olive is hopeful of stepping onto the rostrum this year, and will have few better chances than in Montmelo this weekend. He has been a consistent top ten finisher throughout the season.

"This race is really important, as it provides the extra motivation that we need to go forward. We are working very well and every race we're getting closer and closer to where we want to be," said the Spaniard.

"In any case, you have to approach the race like any other, because if you get more emotionally involved then you can end up doing badly, wanting to do more than what you are capable of."
