Lorenzo welcomed back to Mallorca

New 250cc World Champion Jorge Lorenzo returned to his home city of Palma de Mallorca to a hero's welcome yesterday, accompanied by members of his team as he touched down at the Son Sant Joan airport.

The Spaniard was paraded through the streets in a convertible, waving to the crowd and making celebration gestures. The parade was then moved on to a government building, where he was greeted by the island's highest authorities. With a large audience still watching as he addressed them from the balcony, Lorenzo shouted to them "We are finally World Champions!"
