New Faces Of 125cc: Dominique Aegerter
This year's 125cc category welcomes a number of new faces to the grid, and as part of a series on motogp.com, we run the rule over lower cylinder category rookie Dominique Aegerter. 2007 will be his first full year in the World Championship, with the Swiss rider having previously appeared for Multimedia Racing at Estoril and Valencia last season.
The 16 year old joins the team full-time this season, riding alongside Raffaele de Rosa and Simone Grotzkyj, after balancing his career between roadracing and motorcross. His record includes a seventh place in the ADAC Junior Cup in his debut outing in 2003, following which he rose through the ranks to take the runner up spot in the German Championship. Drawing inspiration from countryman Thomas Luthi in moving to the world stage, Aegerter faces the difficult task of getting to know the new tracks of the championship in his maiden year.
