Talmacsi: One 125cc Rider, Four Wheels, 24 Hours….

Hungarian rider Gabor Talmacsi starts a new stage in his career in 2007, as he moves to the Aspar Team in 125cc. As if adapting to a new factory and team wasn't enough, the popular rider will also be undertaking a new challenge this week on four wheels, when he enters the 24 Hour Dubai GT.

On the invitation of friend Kalman Bodis, Talmacsi enters the GT behind the wheel of a specially designed Brokernet Silver Sting, nine years in the making by an all-Hungarian team and sponsored by close affiliates of the 125cc rider. His resumé as a car driver includes previous appearances at the Clio Cup and Porsche Cup, although 24 Hour racing is an altogether new experience for Talmacsi.

The race takes place on Friday, and the Aspar rider spoke this week about the opportunity to try his hand at the unique challenge.

"I was pleased to receive the invitation, which – I think – can help me a lot in my preparation process before my next testing session. It will be good to feel the speed and grip again. This will not be the first time that I start a race in a car, but this event will still be somewhat different. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of result we can reach in the newly developed Brokernet Silver Sting car, which will have its first test on the international stage. I do not think I will have any physical problems, as I keep my condition under continuous control. I will do all I can, so that I can give the most of my skills to strengthen my team. We have to thank the Brokernet Group for their help, without which I would be unable to represent Hungary in the race of Dubai."

125cc, 2007, Gabor Talmacsi
