Altitude adjustment for Checa ahead of Sepang Test

New LCR Honda rider Carlos Checa is spending his time in the run-up to the Sepang Test getting in shape. The 34 year old Spaniard regularly uses the winter months to take advantage of altitude training techniques in the mountains near Barcelona, and this week he was part of an interesting research program at Sant Cugat de Valles.

In a trial run of a climate chamber at the High Performance facility, Checa undertook a series of tests under varying extremes of temperature and humidity. Of particular interest to the experienced rider will be the strong results in physical and strength tests that he posted under conditions similar to those he will encounter in Malaysia.

Checa has dropped weight and bodyfat percentage over the winter, a plus point as he embarks on a new challenge onboard the more compact 800cc Honda RC212V.
