Ajo Motorsport ride with factory support in 2007

Ajo Motorsport unveiled new riders Michael Ranseder and Robert Muresan, alongside the 2007 125cc bike with which they will race in the World Championship, at an official media presentation in Helsinki last Thursday.

The team will have full factory support from the Piaggio Group this season, as part of a deal that sees them using Derbi machines. It will be Ranseder's second full year in the 125cc class, and Muresan's first after a series of wildcard appearances last season. Both riders showed great enthusiasm for the coming year, Ranseder commenting "I am really looking forward to the first test and the whole season. I'm really happy to be part of this team, and I can barely wait to get on the new bike."

Team Manager Aki Ajo also gave a statement to the press at the presentation, declaring: "We have new riders and bikes for this season, so quite a few things have changed. Although the bike is new for us, it's fast, and we've had such a strong co-operation from the Piaggio Group from the start, so I am feeling quite confident. Both Michael and Robert are young and talented riders. For Robert this is his first season, so it'll be somewhat of a learning year for him, but young guys learn quickly, so especially the latter part of the season could be interesting. Michael already knows the tracks, so this will help us with set-up's as well. We're all feeling quite confident, and really we're just planning now for the tests in a little over a week's time in Jerez."
