"Capi-T-Rex" comes out for Ducati presentation

Ducati Corse's Claudio Domenicali was joined by MotoGP star Loris Capirossi today for the second day of the team's presentation at Madonna di Campiglio.

The highlight of the day was the unveiling of the Desmosedici GP07, with its new colouring and compact appearance. A chrome finish has been added to the previous design, alongside a cut-down chassis to lighten the bike on the track.

Domenicali commented at a press conference that "we are delighted to present the new Desmosedici GP07. This bike combines technology and the development of data gathered during the first tests."

"I am particularly proud to have Loris here with us. We started out the venture together, and five years later we are still here, preparing for another season as part of a project that has matured, grown and improved."

"Some say that I am the dinosaur of MotoGP, so I have decided to change the Capirex logo to Capi-T-Rex," joked Capirossi later. "It is my 18th season in the World Championship, and one thing is for sure: I continue to enjoy myself on the bike, and I'm ready to give my all this season."

"In Ducati I have found a family, it's something that I feel proud of and it makes me happy," added the veteran. From tomorrow the team head to Sepang for their first MotoGP test of 2007.
