Capirossi thinks tyres will make the difference in 2007

Loris Capirossi undertakes his fifth season behind the bars of a Ducati in their MotoGP project this year, in what could be his best chance yet of taking the elusive World Championship crown. One of only three championship leaders last season, it was perhaps only the injury suffered at Catalunya whilst level on points with Nicky Hayden that stood in his way in 2006. The experienced Italian gave his thoughts on what will be the crucial factors in the premier class next season for an aspiring champ.

"I think that all the factories start from a similar situation, at the moment I see a number of riders being very strong in 2007."

"What will make the championship in my opinion will be the tyres. In the case of Ducati, we have to be more consistent throughout the season, and find the balance necessary to be competitive at every race. Up until now it has been a series of easy Grands Prix and ones where we have struggled," commented Capirossi to the gathered media at the Madonna di Capiglio ski resort.
