Terol fastest on second day of 125cc action

Of the 125cc riders able to complete considerably more laps than in yesterday's rain-affected session, Nico Terol was the top dog on the Valsir Seedorf Derbi bike. The Spaniard clocked a fastest time of 1'48.552 on his home track, ahead of Honda factory rider Bradley Smith and yesterday's fastest rider Mike di Meglio.

The top six also included Federico Sandi and Simone Corsi from Fontana Skilled Racing in 4th and 6th respectively, sandwiching Terol's team-mate Lukas Pesek.

As with the 250cc class, there are a number of twists in the tale when the absolute results are put together. Terol was just over a second behind the Ducati MotoGP bike, although all involved would admit that the 800cc machine was unlikely to be going all-out, and the entire top ten in 125cc managed to best 250cc newcomers Pablo Nieto, Ratthapark Wilairot and Robert Muresan. At this early stage such results mean little, but at least demonstrate the degree of competitiveness between riders, teams and cylinder classes.
