Race simulations undertaken on third day at Sepang

The majority of the teams at Sepang for the first test of 2007 have made the most of day three to undertake race simulations, putting their 800cc prototypes through their paces for distances more suited to what they will face over the course of the season. The durability of the bikes and tyres is thoroughly examined, all under the intense heat and 50% humidity that has been customary over the last three days in Malaysia.

After conclusion of race simulations, a number of teams have drawn an early close to their testing program, including Yamaha, Kawasaki and one of the Suzuki riders, John Hopkins. The Anglo-American topped the timesheets on the first two days at the Asian circuit.

One of the most interesting developments to come out of the day has been the swapping of bikes between Carlos Checa and Kenny Roberts Jr, as the two look to find solutions to improve the Honda engines under different demands.
