Four teams and seven riders begin the second Sepang Test of 2007 today, ahead of next week's Official Test in Qatar.

Yamaha's official factory team, still without a sponsor confirmed for the season, are joined by satellite outfit Tech 3, Kawasaki Racing and Ilmor GP rider Andrew Pitt for testing in Malaysia, and the day's proceedings got underway at around 10am local time. The variable conditions at Sepang always provide riders with useful practice, and today the initial sunny skies were clouded over during the early afternoon. As yet the threatened rain hasn't fallen, but could still make an appearance before the end of the session.

Valentino Rossi, who last week extended his contract with Yamaha into the 2008 season, has been on the pace early on. The Italian topped the timesheets on the final day of his previous visit to Sepang.
