Yamaha Tech 3 riders Makoto Tamada and Sylvain Guintoli were back on track today after a week away. The duo were keen to resume their 800cc testing, with Tamada especially happy with the progress made since his last appearance at Sepang. The Japanese rider beat his time from 2 weeks ago as he continues to adapt to the 800cc Yamaha M1 and the Dunlop tyres.

"I fell really good on the bike now," said Tamada. "Today we did quite a lot of laps and found some interesting new tyres developed since the last test here 15 days ago. I am happy with the work that the Dunlop engineers have done and hope to use the next two days to improve further."

For Guintoli, this second test was a chance for the Frenchman to get back on the bike and regain confidence. The MotoGP rookie had sat out the final day of testing last time round after suffering a crash.
