Polaris World line up Pasini for 125cc title contention

The SSM Racing team recently announced an important sponsorship deal with Polaris World, a big name in the Spanish construction sector, to help fund their quest for success in 125cc with Mattia Pasini and Joan Olive.

The SSM Racing team recently announced an important sponsorship deal with Polaris World, a big name in the Spanish construction sector, to help fund their quest for success in 125cc with Mattia Pasini and Joan Olive.

Team Manager Manuel Burillo spoke to motogp.com about the promising future for the Spanish outfit in the lower cylinder category, expressing his happiness with the new sponsorship agreement.

"We are extremely satisfied to have come to an arrangement with Polaris World, which was only very recently tied up. They are a company that have lent their support to a lot of sports, especially in Murcia and Catagena, and now join us in our search for success in MotoGP."

Alongside sponsorship support, Pasini will also have at their disposal a top bike in the form of the Aprilia RSA, equal to those ridden by almost certain championship rivals Hector Faubel and Sergio Gadea. The Italian will resume testing in Barcelona this week, despite having suffered cuts and burns to his foot at the team's last outing.

Burillo paid tribute to the partnership of Pasini and Olive when speaking to motogp.com, noting that "the two are an interesting duo, and I think that we will be one of the strongest teams in the category, alongside Aspar, KTM and the Derbi factory team. It's a very exciting season for us. The two riders have ridden very well in these first preseason tests. Joan struggled a little at Valencia, but he's very comfortable and more confident than last year."
