Gadea, Talmacsi and Pesek on form at rainy Montmelo

Sergio Gadea led the way in Catalunya for the 125cc teams testing in Spain, as part of an all-Aspar top two. The team's preparations, on the two different models of the factory Aprilia to be used this year, were halted by the rainfall experienced after lunchtime at Montmelo, although Gadea and team-mate Gabor Talmacsi both worked hard on wet settings before the close of the day.

Lukas Pesek and team-mate Nico Terol were also on good form at the first of two days in Catalunya, part of a Derbi outfit that could push for honours this season.

British rider Bradley Smith had a short run-out, but was disappointed with the lack of laps he was able to put in. The 2006 Rookie Of The Year has seen his preseason preparations hit by adverse weather at every session in 2007, as he prepares for what will be a testing year for the youngster. In an interesting sight, both he and team-mate Esteve Rabat were using clutch levers engraved with MotoGP rider Dani Pedrosa's name, being the former 125cc and 250cc World Champion's former materials and parts that Smith obviously feels comfortable with. The 16 year old explained this further to the motogp.com cameras in an exclusive interview.
