Gadea and Smith impress at 125cc test

Sergio Gadea and Bradley Smith were tied as fastest 125cc riders in Valencia today, both going round in 1'40.9. The Spaniard and the 2006 Rookie Of The Year were the only riders to break the 1'41 barrier, and Smith's ride was especially important for Honda to show that they mean business in 125cc this season.

Gadea and team-mate Hector Faubel, third quickest today, were originally scheduled to skip this week's testing sessions in the Aspar outfit's backyard but, after missing valuable time last week at the rainy Circuit de Catalunya, elected to give the Aprilia RS another runout. Gabor Talmacsi, working with an older version of the bike, was however not present.

Pablo Nieto, Stefan Bradl and Esteve Rabat completed a tightly packed top six.
