Pesek ready to race after heading the field at Catalunya

One of four 125cc riders to clock a fastest lap of 1'51.6 at last week's Catalunya 2-stroke test, Valsir Seedorf Derbi Racing's Lukas Pesek has declared himself "ready to race" ahead of what is sure to be an enthralling season.

One of four 125cc riders to clock a fastest lap of 1'51.6 at last week's Catalunya 2-stroke test, Valsir Seedorf Derbi Racing's Lukas Pesek has declared himself "ready to race" ahead of what is sure to be an enthralling season.

The Czech rider, on the podium three times in 2006, lines up once more alongside team-mate Nico Terol as part of a lower cylinder category that has lost three of its more dominant forces this year. World Champion Alvaro Bautista, twice runner up Mika Kallio and former title holder Thomas Luthi all move up to 250cc this season, perhaps increasing Pesek´s chances of a maiden victory yet further.

Speaking after the two day test on the outskirts of Barcelona, the 22 year old expressed his eagerness to get the first race underway. "The fact that I was fastest here is a positive sign for the team. We will miss the test at Valencia (which takes place this week) but things are looking good for our next time on track at the Official Test in Qatar. Let's get racing!" stated Pesek.

Both Pesek and Terol will be present this Wednesday at Valsir Seedorf Derbi Racing's team presentation in Milan.
