The Aspar team yesterday held a presentation in Madrid to showcase their 2006 project, which included the revealing of Spanish bank Bancaja as their title sponsor in 125cc.

Bancaja-Aspar riders Hector Faubel, Sergio Gadea and Gabor Talmacsi were in attendance at the event, alongside Jorge Martinez Aspar and his 250cc riders Alvaro Bautista and Alex de Angelis. The head of the Aspar Team, who took their first World Championship title courtesy of Bautista last season, expressed his delight with the new collaboration.

"Working with Bancaja is something that makes us very proud. Our link with them dates back to 1998, when they came to the World Championship supporting the Ricardo Tormo Circuit and the race Escuela Bancaja race school. This season we are competing for the World Title with some of the riders who came through the ranks of said school."

Hector Faubel added to this, stating that "it is always something important when a company like Bancaja works alongside a team with such a rich history to fight for the same things. Both the Aspar Team and Bancaja have placed a lot of trust in us, and now we have to pay them back with results."
