Hiroshi Aoyama was the fastest rider on day two at Jerez, where overnight and morning rain significantly affected the 250cc riders.

The Red Bull KTM rider was once again the rider putting the most miles on the clock today, despite the soaking wet conditions, as he worked on the new chassis developed by the Austrian factory. Another chassis being put through the paces was that of Aprilia, courtesy of Jorge Lorenzo, Alvaro Bautista and Alex de Angelis, amongst others.

Behind Aoyama, De Angelis, Mika Kallio, Bautista, Andrea Dovizioso and wet weather specialist Anthony West all tried their hand at navigating a slippy track, something which riders such as Taro Sekiguchi, Eugene Laverty, Yuki Takahashi and Shuhei Aoyama elected against. Repsol Honda Julian Simon, who crashed yesterday, travelled to Barcelona this morning for further analysis on a dislocated shoulder.

There were light crashes for Alex Debon, De Angelis and Aoyama, all without serious consequences.
