The MotoGP Official Test at Jerez will play host to the opening duel of the 2007 season, as the premier class riders take part in the annual 40 minute qualifying session with a brand new BMW up for grabs.

Following the same format as in previous years, the best riders on two wheels will take to the track from 2.05pm, putting their name into the hat to take home a BMW Z4 Coupé and set the early pace for the season-long Best Qualifier award. Previous winners of the one-off sprint are Loris Capirossi, Valentino Rossi, Sete Gibernau and Colin Edwards, who took victory last year in the wet at Catalunya.

The most exciting 40 minutes of preseason can be followed on motogp.com through both Live Timing and Live Coverage.
