The second and final day of 250cc testing at Jerez, part of the final MotoGP Official Test of 2007, has been literally dampened by the appearance of rain both last night and this morning. Only 13 riders have taken to the drenched track, whilst a number have teams have chosen to beat the Spanish traffic and pack up their trucks for an early departure.

After his marathon session yesterday, Hiroshi Aoyama was the fastest rider this morning. The KTM rider clocked a fastest lap of 1'55.085, the difference of over ten seconds between this time and Hector Barbera's from yesterday illustrating just how treacherous conditions are at Jerez.

Mika Kallio joined his team-mate in putting more wet weather miles on the clock, albeit a further two seconds slower on his fastest run, ahead of Australian rider Anthony West. The latter is undertaking his first test for Team Sicilia this week, and is always keen to ride- whatever the conditions. The renowned wet specialist was trailed by Alvaro Bautista and Imre Toth, two quarter litre rookies, in the top five.
