In a change from yesterday's damp conditions, the weather at Jerez today was ideal for the 125cc riders on their first day of testing at the Spanish circuit.

At midday the Aprilia riders were the early frontrunners. Mattia Pasini headed the timesheets on his new Polaris World prototype with a lap of 1'48.353, just ahead of the Aspar trio of Gabor Talmacsi, Sergio Gadea and Hector Faubel. Joan Olive completed the top five within a second of Pasini's time as of 1pm.
