Julian Simon will definitely miss next week's Oficial Test in Qatar, after undergoing further analysis on the shoulder he dislocated earlier this week. The Repsol Honda rider was yesterday examined in Barcelona, with an ultrasound showing up a small fracture but eliminating the possibility of any ligament damage.

"I'm happy because, although I have a tiny fracture, it's not really an important injury," commented Simon to motogp.com. "Everything is aligned well, there are now after-effects and I will be able to recover quickly," he added.

"I will definitely not ride next week in Qatar, because it represents an unnecessary risk. I was going to ride, it isn't worth it if I am out of shape," continued the Spaniard, who will begin rehabilitation next week after immobilizing his shoulder for a few days.

"I'm aware that I won't be at 100% at the first race of the season, but after an extremely positive preseason I will be giving it my all."
