This morning's opening session of the second and final MotoGP Official Test of preseason 2007 in Jerez saw limited action, due to the varying weather conditions in southern Spain.

Indeed in the early part of the morning only test riders and Kawasaki Racing's Olivier Jacque could be seen on track, while the majority of the main MotoGP competitors waited patiently to see how the weather conditions would develop. The track was still wet by midday as there was a brief yet heavy shower.

Most riders first came out by around 1.30pm when the sun appeared. Only Ducati Marlboro development rider Vittoriano Guareschi, Rizla Suzuki's test rider Kousuke Akiyoshi and Repsol Honda's reigning World Champion Nicky Hayden had clocked 20 laps by 2.00pm this afternoon.

Meanwhile, two of this season's title favourites Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi had each completed just a single lap by 2.00pm, as they were just beginning their first outings of the days.

Due to the limited amount of lap undertaken thus far not a great deal can be read into the fastest times of the day, but Honda Gresini's Marco Melandri was the quickest during the early proceedings, lapping in 1'53.327. Second and third fastest riders Casey Stoner and Loris Capirossi, respectively, have been the only other riders to lap inside the 1'54 mark thus far.
