Lucio Cecchinello's LCR Honda team for 2007 was officially presented last night in Jerez, in the La Cueva Hotel a stone's throw from the circuit where the team test this week.

The new livery for Carlos Checa's Honda RC212V was unveiled at the presentation, although Eugene Laverty's 250cc kit bike was unable to be shown off due to being in transit to Qatar for next week's Official Test. After a short introduction, the riders were introduced to the gathered media, and short speeches were given by Checa, Laverty and Cecchinello. The closeness of the team was emphasised by all three, with the riders having trained together over the winter break.

Laverty spoke to motogp.com after the presentation, and paid tribute to the guidance given to him by both the former 250cc standouts. "Lucio lets me learn the bike on my own, but he also gives me some really useful advice that he's picked up from some great riders. Carlos is a great help too, he's really approachable and a total professional."

Whilst the Northern Irishman heads to Qatar this weekend, Checa continues on track as part of the MotoGP Official Test until Sunday, looking to build on his fine performance yesterday.
