Although only scheduled to compete in a small selection of 250cc Grands Prix this season as a wildcard, Alex Debon still has a busy year ahead of him. The Aprilia test rider will lend his experience once more to both the Italian factory and Dani Amatriain's projects, helping out reigning World Champion Jorge Lorenzo and 125cc rider Pol Espargaro over the course of the season.

Debon is penciled in to participate in 250cc rounds in his homeland of Spain, starting with next month's race at Jerez. He will also take part in at least one Italian round of the World Championship, either at Misano or Mugello.

Currently he is focusing on the development of both the new chassis and engine of Lorenzo's bike, and is a permanent standby for any official Aprilia rider should they be forced to miss a race. He will not, however, be at this week's Official Test for 125cc and 250cc teams in Qatar, instead heading to Mugello for two days of work on European soil.
