In what must have come as a welcome relief for the 250cc riders, conditions at the Official Test in Qatar have been excellent thus far on day one. The quarter litre grid has been out on track since 10am local time, and have already been able to clock a large amount of laps at the Losail International Circuit. As of 1pm local time, Jorge Lorenzo was the early frontrunner, closely followed by Alvaro Bautista as they put their final touches to their 2007 machines.

There have been no crashes so far, meaning testing has not had to be stopped for any reason before the early afternoon lunch break.
