Bradley Smith: 'I'm ready for the season to start'

Entering his second season in the premier class, Bradley Smith is ready to build on his Rookie Of The Year honour from 2006

Entering his second season in the 125cc World Championship, Bradley Smith is ready to build on his Rookie Of The Year honour from 2006. The Repsol Honda rider is joined by Esteve Rabat in the team's ranks this year, and a string of positive preseason results suggest that the 16 year old Briton is rapidly improving.

Smith spoke to motogp.com after a rainy day of testing last week at Jerez, in which he finished high up on the timesheets and drew some conclusions about his current situation.

"Whereas at the other tests we haven't gone out in the wet, today we elected to go out. It was a good experience because we hadn't been out in the rain for a while. I had a small crash but nothing major. I got a good base on day one because all the teams were here and you could compare with them to see where you really stand. I'm ready now for 2007 to begin."
