Having officially presented their 800cc project at Jerez last week, and topped the timesheets at the final afternoon Official Test session, Kawasaki have had an encouraging conclusion to their preseason action. Randy de Puniet, clocked the fifth fastest time in the BMW M Award run-out, whilst Olivier Jacque appears to be nearly back to full strength.

The former 250cc World Champion explained his enthusiasm for the 2007 project to motogp.com, stating that "the 800cc is somewhat behind in comparison with the other factories, but there is a lot of optimism heading into this new era. It's been a breath of fresh air, and I'm delighted to be part of this team. The results at the moment show great promise."
