Reigning 125cc World Champion Alvaro Bautista ended his debut 250cc preseason on a high note in Qatar, finishing high up the standings of a packed quarter litre field. Although he suffered three small crashes yesterday whilst fine-tuning the Master MVA Aspar Aprilia, the Spaniard reflected positively on the two day visit to Losail when speaking to motogp.com.

"We did a lot of laps and had fast times with our race setup, and it's just a pity that the front end tests didn't work out and I crashed a few times," commented Bautista. "Throughout preseason we have been consistently on the pace, and I think that now is the perfect time for me to begin the season."
