This season is undoubtedly a big one for Shinya Nakano. The Japanese rider rides with a new factory and team this season, as the sole rider for Honda satellite team Konica Minolta. The switch hasn't been a completely smooth one so far, something that Nakano acknowledged this week to motogp.com.

"At the preseason tests everything has been new for me, from the bike to the team to the tyres to the suspension. To be honest it has been a struggle to cope with this new situation, but I continue to adapt and we are evolving in a positive way," said the former 250cc World Championship runner-up. "I'm confident that we can start the first race in good shape, and I'm convinced that the work and coordination with the team will continue improving.

"My rivals are going fast, and that is just due to a few small differences. Seeing as I'm all by myself in the garage with no team-mate to whom to compare myself, I have to use the other Honda riders as reference, especially those with the same technical package as me. In general the team structure is very good, and I certainly think I can get on the podium and take a win this year," concluded Nakano.
