Barros optimistic ahead of full MotoGP return

Alex Barros, the Brazilian veteran who holds the record for the most MotoGP appearances, will add another Grand Prix to his total on his return to action this Saturday. The Pramac d'Antin rider makes his comeback to the highest level after a year away from the World Championship, and arrives in Qatar after an impressive preseason.

Far from simply making up the numbers on the satellite Ducati, Barros has been the Italian factory's fastest rider on a pair of occasions during 2007, and seems to be showing his versatility with a swift adaptation to the 800cc machines.

"I'm very happy in general with the preseason. Jerez has been the only bad test for us, because we had some problems with the setting. The great results of the last few months have given us every reason to be optimistic ahead of the first race of the season," commented Barros at a pre-event activity held yesterday near the Losail International Circuit in Qatar.
