• Jorge Lorenzo starts from pole here for the fourth successive year; in the 125cc class in 2004 and three times in the 250cc class.

• The top 14 riders on the grid have lapped faster than the pole record set last year by Lorenzo.

• Hector Barbera will be starting from the same grid position as last year, when he went on to finish fourth in the race.
