The opening race of the 2007 season was a somewhat discreet occasion for the Red Bull KTM 125cc and 250cc teams.

In the quarter litre category, Hiroshi Aoyama and Mika Kallio were both retirees from the Commercialbank Grand Prix Of Qatar. Aoyama suffered a crash in the early stages of the race, leaving him requiring surgery on his finger earlier this week in Barcelona, whilst Kallio experienced a mechanical problem whilst in seventh place on his 250cc debut.

Tomoyoshi Koyama's maiden outing for the team gave KTM their best result of the day, with the Japanese flyweight just missing out on sixth after a sprint finish to the line with Simone Corsi. Youngsters Randy Krummenacher and Stevie Bonsey both completed the race as they aim to build up Grand Prix experience.
