Jorge Martinez Aspars 125cc team continued their dominant 2006 form at this years first race in Qatar, occupying the top two steps of the podium at Losail.

Aspar stalwart Hector Faubel snatched victory from new team-mate Gabor Talmacsi in a frenetic finale to what was effectively a two horse race, with both versions of the teams 125cc bikes a more than comfortable 17 seconds ahead of their nearest rivals.

For Faubel, also the winner of the final race of last season, this year is the chance to step out of the shadow of reigning World Champion Alvaro Bautista in a competitive and open 125cc field. He was part of the Aspar quartet of Bautista, Faubel, Pasini and Gadea who all finished in the top five of the 2006 overall classification, with 12 triumphs between them.

This year the Aspar team again look to be favourites for glory, not just in the team competition but also with every one of their talented riders in the individual title chase.
