Dunlop continue record-breaking run

Although only providing tyres for one team in the MotoGP class this season, Dunlop continue their monopoly in the lower cylinder categories.

Although only providing tyres for one team in the MotoGP class this season, Dunlop continue their monopoly in the lower cylinder categories. The only tyre manufacturer to have been involved in the World Championship since 1948, this year will be another record-breaking annum for Dunlop in both 125cc and 250cc, as Motorsport Manager Jeremy Ferguson explained to motogp.com.

"It will be our 15th consecutive year as World Champion in the 250cc category, and our 11th in 125cc. We would like to have some competition, but we don't have any at the moment," commented Ferguson.

"Certainly in 125cc, we have the policy of giving every rider exactly the same quantity and quality of tyres, whether you are 1st or 36th on the grid," he concluded, noting the even playing field given to every rider by the tyre manufacturer.
