The participants in the third instalment of the Red Bull MotoGP Academy, a development scheme for young riders under the guidance of Alberto Puig and Raul Jara, were this week undertaking their first test of 2007. Jonas Folger, Isaac Viñales and Takaaki Nakagami were at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia to finally get on their 125cc bikes after training with supermotard, pedalbikes and other devices to get them into top riding shape.

2007 is the third year for the trio in the CEV Buckler Spanish Championship, a series which has produced some great talent over the past few years. This season a number of new rules come into place, which the academy alumni will have to adapt to. One of the most significant is the introduction of a minimum weight limit of 136kg for rider and bike combined.
