Two returning wild card riders will make their first appearances of the 2007 season this weekend at Jerez, participating in the Gran Premio bwin.com De España.

In MotoGP, Rizla Suzuki test rider Kousuke Akiyoshi will line up alongside the team's regular riders John Hopkins and Chris Vermeulen at the first European round of the World Championship. The Japanese racer was last in action at February's Official Test, where he helped with the development of the GSV-R800 in Hopkins' absence. Akiyoshi made his MotoGP wildcard debut last year at last year's Japanese round at Motegi, taking a respectable 13th position in the race and qualifying 12th as the fastest Suzuki at his home track. He combines testing for Rizla Suzuki with his full-time ride in the All Japan Superbike Championship.

In 250cc, Alex Debon races at the first of what should be a handful of quarter litre Grands Prix. The Spaniard is Aprilia's official test rider in the category, and a semi-regular participant in the World Championship. Debon last year took four top five finishes for the factory Aprilia team, with his best result coming at Assen where he was just one place off a podium finish. The veteran was unable to compete in the race at Jerez last year, but will be hoping for better fortune this season. More appearances are scheduled for every Spanish round, and possible rides at Mugello and San Marino.

There are also wild card spots for Álvaro Molina and Santiago Barragán in 250cc, whilst Dino Lombardi, Pere Tutusaus, Iván Maestro and Daniel Sáez complete a list of eight riders to join the regular lineup.
