Debon hoping for free role at Jerez

Aprilia test rider Alex Debon makes his return to wild card action this weekend, taking part in his home race at Jerez. The Spaniard was crucial in Jorge Lorenzo's 250cc World Championship triumph at his last appearance, holding off title contender Andrea Dovizioso at Valencia, but it is yet to be seen whether tactics will be involved in Sunday's race.

"I have to speak to (Aprilia Technical Manager) Gigi dall'Igna this afternoon to decide what role I will play this weekend. I played a big part in Jorge's success last season, and I hope that I can continue to help him in the five races in which I will participate this year," commented Debon to motogp.com.

The experienced test rider also expressed his happiness with results at Qatar two weeks ago, where Lorenzo took victory on the bike developed in conjunction with Debon. "The results were good in Qatar, so I arrive here very pleased with that, I'm looking forward to the race," he concluded.
