Special atmosphere growing in Jerez

The atmosphere at the Circuito de Jerez was beginning to reach fever pitch this afternoon as many of the 130,000 expected fans arrived a day early for tomorrow's Gran Premio de España races.

Each year the crowd at the Andalusian track make the weekend one of MotoGP's most spectacular events and with Dani Pedrosa taking pole for tomorrow's premier class race the circuit is buzzing with anticipation.

Pedrosa's compatriot and fellow Honda rider Carlos Checa is also on the front row of the gird and in the 250cc category the front three are all Spaniards, so the thousands of supporters already gathered in Jerez know there is a great chance of at least one home victory tomorrow - or perhaps more.

Meanwhile, there was plenty of talent on display in the paddock, as well as on track today, as the various teams' paddock girls turned heads in the southern Spanish spring sunshine.
